If anyone calls you a dreamer remind them that the building they work in came from a dreamer, the car they're driving came from a dreamer. The computer they love, the cell phone they use, movies and music they escape in - all came from dreamers.

Hi Shaelyn,
In response to you asking if the last quote was truthful, another quote came to mind. I don't know who originally said it:
"IF THERE'S A WILL, THERE"S A WAY."
I'm gonna give credit to my Dad on that one, he always use to say that to me. It's the quote of the underdog. The one nobody sees coming.

no, it wasn't a question.
more like, "boy, is that one truthful!" more like a "wow" sorta thing. it hit home.
I could see how it would be misread tho, sry!
EDIT: yeah, the "where there's a will, there's a way" one is well known...the French even have their own version of it: "Vouloir, c'est pouvoir."
At least I think that's right...I might have the spelling wrong. It's been years since I took French.

I believe celestialthreads' quote is from Douglas Adams I can't recall whose this one is, it's a while since I learnt it: On ne voit pas bien qu'avec la coeur, car l'éssensiel est ìnvisible pour les yeux. I hope I spelled it right. Translation: You don't see well except with the heart, because the essential is invisible to the eyes.

Jeremy, that is a fantastically shaped new avater you have.
The truth of the existence of a basic Intelligence to Whom we vaguely give the name of God; the truth that behind all outher seeming, the motivating power of the universe is Love; the truth that a great Individuality came to earth, called by Christians, the Christ, and embodied that love so that we could understand; the truth that both love and intelligence are effects of what is called the Will of God; and finally the self-evident truth that only through humanity itself can the Divine Plan work out."
Alice A. Bailey

"Not to hurt our humble brethren (the animals) is our first duty to them, but to stop there is not enough. We have a higher mission - to be of service to them whenever they require it. If you have men who will exclude any of God's creatures from the shelter of compassion and pity, you will have men who will deal likewise with their fellow men."

Heres one that put me into a spin:
One of the basic axioms of magical philosophy is that morality grows from within, Once you have begun to know the difference between:
what you have learned to believe & what you will to believe.

Can't remember where I found this. I think it's brilliant though.

As you begin to reintegrate the previously separated parts of yourselves - the male, the female, the conditional love, and the unconditional love - you begin moving further into unity consciousness. Then you will realize that you were never separate, but have always been one. At that point you will finally comprehend that you are also one with us.

A heart is a fragile thing, that's why we protect them so vigerously, give them away so rarely, and why it means so much when we do. Some hearts are more fragile then others, purer somehow. like crystal in a world of glass. Even the way they shatter is beautiful.Someone I know uses it as a signature on a forum. I always stop and stare at it because I find it so beautiful.

This is my own quote, or a prayer actually. Dear God,
show me the Love show me the Light surround me with your divine Light and let it shine in my heart let me love myself let me remember who I am let my love spread through me on to the ones I love and to the ones they love and to our entire planet
protect our planet from negativity surround us in your Light and Love and in your Wisdom help me always staying in the Light for I am the creature of Light and I am the creature of Love just like you
Amen.

This isn't a quote, but a lyrics from my best loved musician, the Irish singer Enya. Her new album has just released, it's called Amarantine. One of her songs is so touching that I decided to put it here. It is full of quotes which can be very true. (Of course, feel free to move it away if it doesn't belong here.)
A Moment Lost - Enya
It's only now when words are said that break my heart in two, I wonder how you can endure all I've said, all I say to you.
How strong, how brave, how true of you to bear the hurt I gave. I know it tears your heart in two; all I've said, all I say to you.
After all the words are said, after all the dreams are made: every one a precious one, every one a summer sun...
A moment lost, forever gone can never be again, so know how much it means to me; all you said, all you gave, all your love to me.
