Hey everyone. I realize I haven't been posting... er, at all... and I haven't been replying to PM's and emails and MSN conversations either. I'm going through some tough times... anorexia, self-injury, OCD, and dissociation being the reasons. It's okay though, I'm getting help... sort of. Just thought I'd explain my absence so you all don't think I've spontaneously combusted or something. ^___^
A lot of the time I'm just not up to answering when you talk to me on MSN or through emails or whatever... it's not that I don't like you, lol. ^__^
Many indigos go through this kind of depression so don't worry to much about me. I'll be okay.. I just need a little break from reality -- it can be so tiring, you know?
Thanks for your patience.
~ Laurel

I had been wondering about you... yeah, I've been through something similar before...it was really nowhere near the same, but it was a sort of depression, I kinda needed to isolate myself for a while to figure some stuff out...different symptoms of the same problem, I believe anyway. I got through it, and came out of it knowing a lot more about myself, and the world around me. I hope you do too Feel better, and know that you are LOVED!

If its okay I'd like to derail the thread ever so slightly ^^; Your post, Shae, just sparked thinky things in my head!
I had my depression over the summer of this year, personally I came out of it not really knowing anything new, I just changed. But I found it harder to go back into the "real world" so to speak the longer I stayed in my own.

Your post, Shae, just sparked thinky things in my head! Well I am glad to have sparked someone's thinky things hehehe ...my big depression actually spanned for 2 years. I have little spouts still where I'll be down for a month...they're all little though, no real big deal compared to that two years...and I always come out of it. After coming out of the "great depression" lol, I always know there's light at the end of the tunnel for me. Life is full of downs, and ups. Even at my worst, I always know things get better at some point. Rad, did you take medication? Laurel, are you? ...I never did...no one knew what I was going through at the time. I'm testing a theory...I personally believe that is a key...from what I have seen, meds only treat the symptoms, so you feel better without dealing with the problem...but without dealing with the problem, how can you learn from it? ...Rad, I think you sparked thinky things for me too.

I was depressed continuously for five years, I tried medication but it had no effect on me. Laurel, my heart goes out to you. I have been concerned for you, and I still am. I am glad you've been drawing during this time, I hope it's helping keep you sane.

I didn't take medication. I try to avoid any pills and the like.. I remember being forced to take some cod liver oil pills or something, something about helping my brain. Me, thinking the mind and brain are two seperate things make me dislike this, I didn't feel any effect.. Hmm..
But no, I didn't take medication. My brother is in a heavy depression brought on by financial troubles, I don't believe he is taking meds either.
I think it is better to go through it, instead of taking pills to supress it.

Arya, Yes, obsessive-compulsive disorder. I've always been a little OCD-ish but it got pretty bad for a while there. It's kind of died down a little though, not that that's all good. But what can you do?
Shaelyn, No, I don't take any meds. In fact, they really bother me and I intend to avoid them as much as possible. I see meds as a way of avoiding the real problem, not a fix. If you take away the medications the symptoms return, so it isn't real at all. Plus, I have a huge OCD-related phobia of chemicals. O__o
djgirlcherise, Thank you, ^_____^ I'll certainly be by and whenever I feel up to it, I'll post.

I agree, Arya.
I think there are many alternatives to the pill.
I believe the cannabis sativa herb has wonderful options for many, many wholistic approaches to medicine.
Essential oils rank second in my book.
Herbal teas, acupuncture, diet, and exercise complete the package for me.

Well, there is such a thing called Clinical Depression, which is when there is a disfuction in the neurotrasmitters in the head and an imbalance of seratonin and dopamine, and the result is depression that is literally a biological disfunction of the body and no matter what kind of therapy the person goes through, it won't help, because it's an actual issue with the way the brain functions. In these cases, people really do need medication as well as therapeutic treatment because otherwise it is literally impossible for them not to be depressed - a person can cause their own depression, but it can also be a fault of the body caused by genetics, which goes the same for things like being bi-polar, ADD, OCD, etc.
As for people who suffer from normal Depression, I completely agree with you guys, I think medication in a lot of cases may make it harder in the end for a person to recover and therapy or "support" treatment is much better.
Just FYI. =) We're learning all about it in the classes I take this semester at college, it really is a sad thing, the body's homeostasis is really such an important thing to maintain, and huge problems occur when that homeostasis is lost.

Hi Laurel,
Looks like you are having a difficult time transitioning. Selecting a new direction in life is tough. First step, dump everything you don't like in your life as fast as you can. You don't have to be everything to everyone or live up to anyone else's expectation of you. Teenagers need to establish their identity and strengthen the core of who they really are and not what everyone else wants them to be.
Locate your star and start heading for it, Stan

I am the goddess of Raw Chocolate. Did you all know that raw chocolate is a wonderful food to overcome depression?
This is the raw, uncooked cacao beans. Look for them at your health food store, or check rawfood.com. If it is cooked, it doesn't work. It must be raw. The package must say raw, so be aware of this.
I make amazing goddess elixirs from fresh young (white) coconut water, raw chocolate, stevia or agave nectar and a few drops of organic mint spirits. Off the hook! I have at least 2 of these drinks each day, which I have named "Chocolate Rush". My fave is called "ChocoPop" as it also contains raw organic spinach chopped up so fine in my vitamix you don't even know it's there. The mint disguises the greens, and the alkaline energy of the leafy greens along with the raw chocolate is truly the food of the gods!
Once you learn how to be an alchemist of mother nature, you will NEVER want to use the MATRIX pharmaceuticals, which are weakening to our electrical system and poisionous to our bodies. They shut down our chakras, our pineal, and our ability to surf interdimensionally.
Raw chocolate is one of the most powerful superfoods on the planet, and is PSYCHOACTIVE and INTERDIMENSIONAL. It blends nicely with cannabis for vision quests. All by itself it contains anandamide (The Bliss Chemical) and PEA (The Love Chemical) that will have you riding a wave of love and bliss all day. Cooked chocolate is NOT psychoactive, only raw, and the dose is safe for children, and very good for brain focus while we are in bliss. My 12-year old son makes a daily shake with fresh squeezed OJ, raw chocolate, blue green algae, spirulina, and frozen fruit. Then I home school him and we have a great day every day.
I recommend 2-3 raw chocolate drinks daily for all indigos to stay in our groove and ride our moods as we transmute old programs.
Soon I will have a website up with raw chocolate for sale but in the meantime, you can find it on the internet. The only source I trust is from fellow indigo David Wolfe (rawfood.com) as he tests for mold and fungus and ensures hygienic conditions. This is organic cacao imported from Ecudor. A GIFT from our MOTHER, from the heart of the rainforest to us.
Try it, you will LOVE it!
Kyra

Hi Laurel,
I love, love, love this board that you created. You are such a powerful woman. Sometimes, I wish I could be in a circle of people with you at a divine herbal tea party.
I'm not going to give any energy to the randomness of ignorance and lower vibration.
