This isn't really all that current anymore... but... I just... can't help but post it. BE WARNED: This sound/video clip is disturbing. EXTREMELY SO. You may cry (I did), you may feel horrible and sad after you listen to it. The man who called 911 and probably everyone on his floor died when the building colapsed. He sounds angry, but who isn't when faced with a terrifying situation on the 105th floor with 0 chance of being rescued before suffocating, being injured, or... worse. He had a wife. He had children. Just know, it isn't as sad as it sounds... the victims have passed on to a different reality, perhaps have even come back already as a happy beings with an entire lives to live if reincarnation exists. But it is very disturbing... in fact, here is the transcript if you'd rather read it instead. (http://www.newsday.com/mynews/ny-usmoustranscript,0,3037905.htmlstory ) And here is the clip.

I'm sorry, I know it is wrong to hate, but when I watch these clips it makes me hate everyone who's anti-American so badly that my hands shake. I can't believe some people have actually said we deserve it.

i'm with you arya, but i still feel it, and i think it's a reaction that is based in justice, not meaningless hatred. i don't think this should happen to anyone else, i just hope somewhere along the line something happens to fulfill those broken families
the pain of death is so personal, it's like seeing my mom die all over again when i watch those movies

You know, there are signs that Korea and Iran are stocking up on nuclear weapons, and what with all this stuff happening now with Lebanon, it's like it's to draw attention away from Iran while they can get their stuff together (apparently Iran has had this history-long ambition of ruling the middle east, or so my bf from Kuwait tells me). there's talk that we might end up getting attacked. I don't think we're paranoid, but I do think the US has a good reason to be worried about those smaller countries wanting to attack us, or wanting the nukes for another reason.
I really don't want to live in a time of war. I think if it came to a nuclear WW3, the world would have something to say about it and stop it much faster than in the past.... or so I hope.

North Korea: well, they aren't so much stocking up so much as adding even more nukes to their stockpile (which is already the world's biggest) With regards to the threats the US government is actually reacting to: I think there are much better ways of dealing with them than becoming so restrictive or aggressive - it's a quick-fix solution that doesn't begin to address any of the underlying problems. I think it would solve problems much better if the focus was moved from taking power from those who are abusing it to giving power to those who have been oppressed. It doesn't help that soldiers sent to get rid of Saddam Hussein have killed more civilians than militants - it just encourages the next generation to be more anti-American.

I was in NYC on 9/11. I watched the first plane hit from 3 blocks away. I was on my way to the subway station under the towers. . . late for work because I had spilled toothpaste on my shirt and had to iron a new one. CM, as you know, I also lost my mom when I was young. . . and she is not the only very important person in my life I have lost. I say this as a precursor to my thoughts.. It has been said, "we must be the change we want to see in the world." The power of our positive intentions far outweighs the negativity in the world. With the love we feel and spread, with the peaceful choices we make. . . .in little ways. . . our interactions with people day to day. . . when we choose to smile at the person who just gave us a dirty look. .. or beam peace to the one who cut us off in traffic. .. .. when we REALLY can hold onto the love and the light that we know is there and transmit it to those who cross our paths in all the little ways each day. .. WE CAN change the world. Everything occurs because it has a place in this dance of life. 9/11 is no different. The tensions in the middle east. . the way that governments of all sorts choose to react. . . ALL of it. . . .has it's place in the dance. We are all one and we are all blameless. . ... each fulfilling a role that has a purpose. Yes, we choose which role we will play. Yes, it may be hard to understand the roles that others choose but they are all part of the whole. In fact, many roles exist to make us question . . .to make us hurt. . . to make us recognize what is important and what is not. . . to make us whole. . . to tear down what no longer serves. . .many roles, many occurences are there because we need to wake. If we dream so peacefully will we ever wish to wake? If we do not wake, can we ever create the dreams we hold in our hearts? Every moment is a choice Every choice is a step in the dance of life in the masterpiece of all that is What role will you choose: now and now and now? how about now?

All very true Pearldancer, but a person can vent their frustration, can't they? It's a miracle that you spilled toothpaste on your shirt, I don't see that as a coincidence. And Jeremy, I dunno, I feel like our country is pretty much the same as it's always been, it's just becoming more public about it.

Absolutely CM. .. vent away If you hadn't I would not have responded! Your step lead me to mine. and yes... . indeed . . . the toothpaste's destiny with my boobs was in my opinion an angelic attempt at having a little fun on the job. . . . certainly I was looked after that day.
