Make the choices that are right for you. Go where you want to go. Don't worry, there is no better path, there is only Your path. I'm kinda going through the same questions myself right now, and I think the most comforting thing someone has said to me so far is - "Don't worry, you are young. You will find your way."

Usually, I go with the choice that feels right for me. I tend to think about all the options first in an involved way (so with lots of emotions and stuff) and then in a more detached way (looking at the options from different perspectives without letting emotions interfere). Usually my involved way and my detached way correspond in some strange way with one another and that is the path which I'll be taking.
Of course, it doesn't always help. I'm in a situation now where my emotional "choice" is completely different from the one my mind has come up with. Right now I know that the choice my mind has invented is the right one, but I cannot let myself actually make that choice. I'm blocking myself from making a choice at this moment and I have got a lot of work to do before I can actually take the step and go where I want to go.
There are so many paths to take but in the end, the one you choose will always be right for you. All roads lead towards Rome, as someone told me today, and it doesn't matter how you will get there. Point is that you will get there, no matter what choice you make, because it is where a part of your path will end.

you are supposed to make the choices that you make. you aren't supposed to make the choice that you don't make. you are heading where your choices lead you.
everything is up to you. there is no "supposed to", there is no right or wrong answer.
