So I was thinking, as I usually do on cross-country trips with my family *rolls eyes*, and this idea came to me that I think is a really good one.
Why not start a school purely for new generation students? It could be like a private school until enough funds were generated or we won support from the government (yeah, sure). It would be like a boarding school.
In today's era (especially here in the U.S.), school doesn't teach what's important. School teaches skills such as math and writing, it teaches information about our world such as science, PE, "Health/Sex Ed", and elective classes like art or dance. Nowhere is there a class on social behavior, outlook, world matters, or new attitudes. In the past these lessons were left up to the parents, but I'm finding that parents, especially around my area, really don't deserve to have kids because they don't even bother raising them.
I propose starting a school that teaches not only knowledge about our world, but also gives children the freedom to work amongst all age groups from early on, experience the views of different religions/beliefs AND allow them to make up their own minds, explain how science and spirituality can actually go hand in hand, and basically break them away from the old way of thinking. It's very frightening to see how once today's attitude is solidified in a person's mind (usually when they're about 25), it's VERY hard to make them change by using only persuasion.
Also, what I'd like to have different about this school is that it teaches class(es) on psychic awareness. There's the beginning class that all students are required to take, then there could be follow up courses for students who are interested in continuing with their development.
I attended a Montessori school when I was younger that tried to accomplish all of these things, but they were widely atheist based and HUGE chunks of knowledge were left out of what I learned. I'd hope to structure this school like a Montessori school except have it much more "free thought" oriented and include a lot more information on spiritual matters.
What do you guys think?
