Often, at school, I hear my classmates say horrible things, such as "If your hand is bigger than your head, then you have cancer". I feel that such things aren't to be joked about. They also often say rude things to each other and I have been called a few names this past school year as well. It really can get me down. I just don't understand why some people say such thoughtless things...any thoughts? My friends sometimes say that I am "too nice to people". This comment is not taken as an insult nor compliment, but I am I just being too sensitive? I didn't know where to post this topic, so I decided to post it here... I just felt like getting out my thoughts...

A lot of times when people say things that are mean, insulting, or disturbing (such as the cancer thing) they are just trying to get attention because they feel insecure about themselves. When they get attention this way (even if it's negative attention) it encourages them. It's better to just ignore these people when they're being like this.
In my opinion, one can never be "too nice," only "too passive." My guess is that you are probably one of the quiet/shy types and people take advantage of you, doing things like copying off your papers, cutting in line, taking lunch money, etc. Maybe it's not this extreme but standing up for yourself is not "mean," although to you it might seem that way. This is probably what your friends mean when they tell you that you are "too nice." This doesn't mean that you shouldn't care about other people and do nice things for them, just that you shouldn't let them walk all over you.
Stand up tall and proud, act like you are sure of yourself. Kids will notice this and respect you more if you act like you are secure about yourself.

Hmm, my mom says the same thing about people trying to get attention when they are insecure...it's true, I think, but it still doesn't change the fact that it's mean. And yes, although I am quieter and shyer than most kids at school, I stand up for myself when needed, most of the time, so I don't know what they mean... But still, I will try to stand up more to people, even though it can be hard sometimes...Thanks for the tip.

School's hard for everyone. Part of the job of the higher vibration people is to change the way schools are run, I think. Exactly how to go about that, though... I'm not sure...

Yeah... School, for me, and in my opinion, is not a good place for learning. It's boring, and I just really dislike it. I don't mind it academically as much, it's just that school is loud, and many of my classmates, as I described above, are rude...I wish schools were better.

I don't like school much either. My classmates tend to be very superficial. I'm just not interested in the same thing as they are (make-up, shoes, clothes from the most expensive stores,...) It's just something you gotta get through I guess.

This sounds weird but the first thing I think of when I'm thinking of school is how much I can't stand the lights... for some reason they really cause a lot of agony for me. Eck, sensory overload... lights, talking, smells, lockers banging, too many emotions around me.... I agree with Kitty that schools are not a good place to learn.

The school system is extremely flawed, just like the rest of the world. There is some knowledge to be picked up there, but not enough. I always found school to fit me better as a place to talk to people, than as a place to learn. Have fun and keep your head up. It's the only way out.

you are all wonderful beings I always recommend to get an aura clearing from a psyche doctor www.soulwisdom.net , it's a big step in self empowerment and one of the best things that ever happend to me this life. especially in puberty it helps alot. a book good book about being yourself, alive, in the moment and the irresistible you, how to really engage and listen to people and share the magic with them from marie forleo. www.makeeverymanwantyou.com/ boys can read it too for those people who you can't really love or it is very hard for you to love: Let them out of your life. simple it is. take the school stuff objective, don't let your personality engage in self defeating talk talk talk. rather be the change moment for moment.

Kitty, when I was in school people were like this too and I didn't like that behaviour much then either. I think it's just kids being immature. I also think that you can't be too nice to people, well it is possible to spend so much effort being nice to people that you neglect yourself but that's not about how nice you're actually being.

Thank you, everyone! I can relate to everything here! Elieria, the lights in school bother me too! I've always thought that, ever since first grade, and I've never known why, maybe they just seem so bright and artificial...but I've never liked them! And I, too, don't like all of the noise and musty smells... And Arya, I've come home from school in tears as well, when people call me names. I try to hold in my feelings while I'm at school, because I'm afraid it would just get worse and worse, but when I'm upset, as soon as I come home, I go up to my room and just relax, and it usually makes me feel better. So thank you for all of your comments, everyone! I'm just glad it's summertime...

Yes, I know, thank you for your kind words and thoughts...they make a world of a difference, just knowing that I'm not alone... I will be careful not to block my sensitivity, which probably won't be very hard, as I am naturally very sensitive anyway! Most people are nice to me, it's just those few that say mean things every once in a while. Thanks for your kind words!
