I've been doing some excersizes in DaVincian thinking because of my independent art project... it's really interesting, actually and I encourage everyone to try it.
For the first excersize, all you do is write 100 questions that are significant to you. Anything from "how can I make more money" to "why is the sky blue?" to "what is the meaning of life?" as lng as you care about it. Don't worry about spelling or grammar, just write quickly. Don't worry about repeating the same questions in different words because that will help you determine what themes there are, and don't worry about people's reactions to questions, they won't have to see them. The first 20 or so will probably be random but 30 or 40 you may find some profound questins you never thught to ask before. Once you're done, go through and try to see what the main themes are. Then choose ten "best" (in your opinion) questions and order them from one to ten.
* Don't try to answer the questions; what's important is your curiousity and self-knowledge. Don't tell anyone the answers to their questions either, by the way. Let people contemplate and find out for themselves. ^____^
These are mine:
1. How can I contribute to the far future?
2. How can I improve the lives of everyone I meet?
3. How much history isn't known by anyone anymore?
4. Where is the intelligence of single-celled organism located?
5. How can I better appreciate those around me?
6. How can a cube and a rectangle with the same perimeters have different areas?
7. How do cells communicate?
8. How does the brain work on a "string" level?
9. How can I "live life to the fullest"?
10. What am I really afraid of?
