I will tell you about one of my abilities, which, as far as I havegathered, is very rare, seeing as no one I've ever met has had it.
I call it vibrato. Its more of an extra sense, really. Here's how it works: I can feel motions, impacts, and general existance without being in contact with it. Don't understand? Here:
Say I have my back turned to someone throwing a baseball. I can't really see it. As he throws it, I can FEEL the ball leave his hand. I can feel it's motion through the air, as it twists and turned. I can feel the wind running over the surface of the ball, and, even if I cannot hear it, I will kniw the exact moment it is struch by the bat.
What does this do for me? I have very good catching abilities with objects. I can trow things up in the air reapeatedly and know where and when it will make contact with my hand. One time someone tried to punch me without warning. I caught his hand without blinking, because I could feel the muscles in his arm move to punch me before his hand even left his side. Nautrally, I will be able to have better accuracy with my vibrato if I can see what is happenning just as you may need to look in order to make sense of what you are hearing. However, I still have moderate accuracy.
I'm not trying to boast, I'm just wondering if anyone else has heard of this ability, and how it happens.

I've known we would be capable of it...I've never known anyone to actually get that far though.

It's an amazing ability... I have to see the vibrations for it to work for me, just tiny changes in the air. You're lucky to have grown aware enough to be able to merely sense it! Amazing...

Hey Nimue, Check this out, I find that in a book(the same book that I am always refering too in my post ;-), yes I know ;-) but it's a good one no? I think it's matching with what you are saying :
¨The Third Eye we’re talking about is actually located slightly above the spot that’s between your eyebrows, and it’s connected to the pineal gland. That’s the main passageway, at least. The body has lots and lots of other eyes, and Daoists say that every bodily aperture is an eye. Daoists call the acupuncture points in the body “apertures,” while in traditional Chinese medicine they’re called “acupuncture points.” Buddhists say that every bodily pore is an eye. And that’s why some people can read with their ears, some can see with their hands or the backs of their heads, and there are other people who can see with their feet or their bellies. They can all be used. ¨ (www.falundafa.org)
I believe we all have super abilities sleeping inside (for most of us). Everyone might have a many specials unique ones, because we are all different they are not the same. But it's only when we go back to our pure side, our highest vibration... that we will remember reality and the gifts that we were given. But for that, I feel we need to improve our heart and our mind, because no one we weak ordinary human toughts - behaviours... is allowed to have abilities and disturb society.
only my vision here. there is not only one way to understand things ;-) Good weekend to everybody!

nimue,
You're story re-minds me of somethings I've experienced. I'm very tactial. I like touching things and can feel a lot of things that some peole might say don't exist. Anyways, when I went to the local 4th of July firworks, I could feel the fireworks on the ground! I could feel the ground vibrating when the fireworks went off. Also, I'm able to feel the vibrations of a lot things and the movement of energy at times.

Kiva- I don't wis to shoot you down, but what you experianced with the fireworks was perfectly normal. Vibrations can travel through the round, if they are loud. About the energy though- you certainly have something there!

I know, the fireworks thing is normal if loud enough, but I seemed to notice it this time, and it didn't seem to effect other people as much. The other times I went to this fireworks show, I didn't notice the feeling the fireworks (or didn't feel them those times). That was the first time I felt them or was conscious of feeling them. Besides, what *isn't* normal given ones worldview?

My kung fu teacher (Sifu) is a very advanced soul - you can see the glow of his aura without even trying to when he walks in front of white walls and stuff. The kung fu I take is Praying Mantis Kung Fu which specializes in using just the sense you described - feeling your opponent's energy and direction as they punch you and being able to deflect it by manipulating that energy. It's a very brilliant form of fighting. Another sense he describes that we use with this "vibrato" is sort-of-a precognitive thing... you want to get it to the point where before your opponent even punches, you can feel the direction/force and the way he's going to move, basically being able to know your opponents moves before he even makes them.
It sounded impossible to me when I first heard him talk about it, but then when I saw my sifu in action... wow. Just wow.
So yeah, just wanted to let you know there are art forms in this world that actually utilize that! ^^
