Anyone care to describe their favorite dream?
Here's mine:
It's been about 6 months since I had this dream, but luckily I recorded it in my dream journal so I'll be able to describe it pretty accurately. This particular dream occured when I fell asleep while meditating. Sorry if it gets to be kind of long.
It's is by far the most powerful dream, emotionally, that I've ever had. The dream began instantly as conciousness started to drift away.
As the dream begins, I find myself in what seemed to be a gorgeous rain forest. All my senses were working perfectly, in fact, they were working better than they do in my waking life. Which is EXTREMELY rare for me. Basically all of my dreams have a haze, or a dimness about them. As my vision adjusted on my surroundings, sound started to make itself apparent. It was inaudible at first, then, like someone was turning up the volume, it became louder and louder. "Animals!" I thought. And a lot of them! I look from side to side and see a sea of animals at my sides. All sorts of land animals. Bears, deer, horses, moose, rabbits, dogs, etc. So many I can't even discern them all. I hear them behind me as well. Peace, happiness. My emotions become stronger and stronger. Then, without warning, we all begin to run. We run in perfect harmony, it's like we were moving as one. Our speed continues to increase. And I am now running at superhuman speeds. The mass of animals still at my side and rear. The beautiful green forest is blurring by.
Then all of a sudden, I am thrust off of the ground. I begin to fly. Still moving faster and faster. I ascend into the air and realize that the animals are no longer at my sides, but there are giant eagles and hawks now at my sides. There bodies were fairly big, not quite as big as my own, but their wingspan was magnificently large. We moved as one, above the tree tops. My emotions becoming stronger and stronger still. I then looked down at the tree tops whizzing by and a gap appeared in the trees. As the gap widened I noticed that there was a river in between the gap in the trees. We then descended to within 10 feet of the surface of the water. The eagles still at my side. I then looked forward to see, about 100 yards down, the river dropped off. It was a waterfall. As I approached the waterfall I could see what it was spilling in to. A huge, perfectly circular lake. Clear as crystal.
Suddenly I felt gravity grip me and my speed began to slow and I droppped closer and closer to the water. Then all of a sudden, I shot forward with incredible speed. Almost like I was shot out of a cannon. I landed directly in the center of the lake. I hit with such force that I went around 25 feet underwater before I stopped moving downwards. I opened my eyes (I've never done that under water, I've always been too scared.) Everything was so crystal clear. Even though I was underwater, the brilliant sun lit up everything. Everything was so vivid. I could see the individual bubbles coming out of my mouth and nose. I was completely awestruck. The eagles were gone, but there were schools of fish everywhere. (I have no clue what kinds of fish they were. I live in Minnesota and we don't exactly have a variety of fish around here. But these fish didn't look very common anyways.)
And then as one school of fish approached it suddenly split in half to reveal on of the biggest turtles that I have ever seen. Never in my life, awake or otherwise, have I felt as at peace as I did at that exact moment. Pure emotion blazing through me like a wild fire. As I gazed at the turtle, everything went into slow motion. His massive legs, ever so delicately, ever so slowly propelling him forward. I felt one with him. With the water. With everything. It was the one moment in my entire life, that I felt the quintessence of freedom and happiness.
And that is when I awoke, nearly shaking from the power of the energy coursing through me. I looked at the clock and noticed only 15 minutes had gone by.
