Okay, this is something very frightening that my father brought up to me, especially because I live right next to Los Angeles... right in the middle of where the earthquake would hit.
About ten or fifteen years ago, FEMA (Federal Emergency something America... I dunno, lmao) - basically the people who study national disasters and how to prevent them - published a list of the top three disasters that could possibly hit America.
1) New York attacked by terrorists. (happened) 2) New Orleans destroyed in a hurricane. (happened) 3) Southern California hit by a massive earthquake. (!!!)
My ex told me that his entire life he had a reaccuring dream of being in a parking structure, and then a huge earthquake happening and the building falling around him. Indigo Pheonix mentioned that he also had a dream about earthquakes a few days before the Japan earthquakes hit.
So I have to ask... has anyone else been dreaming about earthquakes? I haven't, but when my dad told me this I got chills all over my body. It's incredibly frightening because the earthquake they predict will be in the 8-10 range which, if you know anything about logarithms and the rhictor *sp* scale, a 10.0 quake is not only twice the strength of a 5.0. It's about 10,000 times the strength. A good amount of Los Angeles was leveled in the Northridge quake which was a 6.0, freeways collapsed and buildings crumbled... an 8.0 will be at least 100x stronger.
Yeah, scary.

CM, I haven't had any dreams about earthquakes lately, but since I live in Los Angeles, this is very frightening to me too. I was watching the news yesterday, and they were saying that in the event of an earthquake LA would be impossible to evacuate beacuse there are so many people and so many cars, so they advised everyone to just stay in their homes and "ride it out". This was completely alarming to me, because I'm not exactly sure how the heck you can "ride out" a devasting earthquake with the house falling in around you. Needless to say this had made me very apprehensive. I totally agree with CM, if anyone has dreams of earthquakes, PLEASE PLEASE let us know.

Hey Everyone,
You may or may not know, but I'm on the West Coast in Vancouver, B.C.
I haven't had any earthquake dreams, but you can bet all the bottled water in the world, we're all thinking about them here, too.
I try to meditate on the person I want to know and be, in the next level of awareness. It's important for me to strengthen all my bonds on Earth, NOW. WOW!

I'll be sure to keep you all posted on anymore Earthquake oriented dreams I may have. But unfortunately if any of us were to have any dreams related to Earthquakes, it would be impossible to tell where or when it would hit, and that's if it actually is a precognitive dream. I find it unfortunate, but I'm afraid all we can really rely on is Science to provide us with adequate warnings when an event like this were to occur.
The scariest thing about Earthquakes is, it's not a matter of if it will happen, but rather when. Whenever you have a build-up of pressure, ultimately that pressure will have to relieve itself. The only logical ways to prepare for an Earthquake would be to A: Do research on the location of fault lines and tectonic plates, to find the "safe" areas to live. Or B: Learn to be prepared, should an Earthquake occur in your area.
