Just curious how everyone deals with this. I seem to get jealous of other people and end up feeling sorry for myself. I want to try and break the cycle but I somehow like how it feels to be unhappy.

Dont worry... it's normal to feel jealous of people sometimes. It's just a way of showing that we're not happy with ourselves, or who we are/what we are capable of doing. When you feel the tinges of jealousy coming on, just close your eyes and picture the person/people you're jealous of. Then send them loads and loads of loving energy, to make sure you haven't (subconsciously) sent them any bad energy with your thoughts. Ask your angels to help you deal with your jealousy, and try to find an outlet. Distract yourself, do something that you're good at or makes you happy. And most importantly, remember this: "What goes by you isn't for you". If something passes you by, it's because it wasn't meant for you. The universe will bring you other wonderful opportunities to shine... when something good happens to other people, try being happy for them. This will take practice, because it's hard to make these feelings genuine.... but just the fact that you're trying really helps.
I had some minor jealousy problems, but then I realized that there are always going to be people who are better than me in certain things, or not as good as me in certain things. No one is better han anyone else, and the amount of materialistic goods someone has says absolutely nothing. A person can be richer and have more than you, but you could have a bigger heart than them, which ultimately is more important and valuable.
Good luck, sweetheart

When I was much younger I had jealousy issues, I've kinda grown out of it by now... but I still get that way a little when I see a really pretty girl who's getting all this attention that she doesn't deserve, lol. What I try to do in these times is focus inward at myself and list all the traits in my head that I like about me and that I like better than the person I'm jealous of, then I start listing the traits about them that are "worse" than me. I know, I know, this sounds like a very petty and judgemental thing to do, but it's really not - it's teaching yourself to love and appreciate yourself, and if you can learn to love yourself, it frees yourself from jealousy. Only after we learn to love ourselves can we truly start to love other people because we're no longer struggling with our own faults.
Another thing that I do is make myself realize that even if they're getting more recognition/attention/whatever from me, I remind myself that God knows what is in my soul, and that is all that matters - not what anyone else thinks. This actually brings me a lot more comfort than I care to admit sometimes, lol.
Good luck with that, and don't worry, people usually grow out of jealous feelings as they get older and become more confident of themselves. ^_^

In the movie What the Bleep Do We Know, the main topic or theme is addiction to feelings. It is scientific fact, there is a chemical addiction in the brain that almost forces an individual to respond with the same repeated feelings and emotions, in almost all situations. It results in a predisposition towards addiction in our waking lives to whatever is an outlet for these feelings. Food, Sex, Alcohol, Drugs, Love, Anger, Martyr, Victim, Jealousy, and so on.
Equally scientific, is the fact that we can eliminate emotional addictions and re-wire the nerve messages in our brains. I think you should definitely watch this movie. Waking Life should also be at the top of your list for movies to see. Best of Lucky Vibrations to you!
