I've been getting a little bit discouraged lately, because everytime that I try to sit down and meditate to contact my spirit guide because my mind is always racing. Could it be possible that I'm just not ready to receive the gift of knowing who my guide is?
Also, is it possible to contact them during an Astral Projection?

Well, the thing is about contacting your spirit guide is that it's more of a skill than a gift. You have to train your mind to be calm and quiet though so you can receive their messages. This is done through slowly building up your skill at meditation, and don't try to do guided meditations until you can at least calm your mind for about a minute, because usually they aren't as affective with your conscious constantly popping in. When you're ready to attempt a guided meditation to meet your guide, I met mine using Sylvia Browne's book "Contacting Your Spirit Guide" which comes with a CD. Sylvia Browne is a good person to check out if you're insterested in learning about a lot of psychic stuff. =)
As you practice meditating, just start talking to your spirit guide in your every day life - they can't read your thoughts unless you give them permission. Just run a narrative of your ideas and thoughts and stuff, I do it a lot when I'm driving because no one else is in the car with me, lol, or if I'm alone in my room and wasting time. They can hear even your smallest whisper so don't worry about speaking up. The more you talk to them the more you focus your mind on them and the clearer their messages will become - soon you'll find yourself practically holding conversations made up of a mixture of thoughts and emotions, and after a while of that you will begin hearing them.
And yes, you can contact them during Astral Projection I believe,I dont' have a lot of personal experience with that though but I'm sure someone else can be more specific. ^_^

Yes, you can contact them with astral projection. I find they are able to be much more succinct with me when I do this than when I contact them any other way. If you let them, they will show you places you can hardly imagine. I think you can figure out how to do astral projection just from reading the tips people have posted on this forum, if not let me know and I'll post a technique that works reasonably well for me. Once you're out, just think "I'll go to my spirit guide/s now", not with words unless that's how you think normally, and you'll get a sense of where they are and how to get there.

Thank you CM and Jeremy both for your great advice! I definetly feel better after reading it. It sounds good to look at it as a skill.
And though I have been practicing my AP, I would love to hear any tips you may have Jeremy.
Thanks again!

Well, how to project: Don't take this as like "the best way" or anything because it doesn't work THAT often for me, it needs a lot of refinement. Firstly, relax as if going to sleep, but stop once you reach the stage when your mind is still awake but your body stops moving. What I usually do from there is focus my attention to a space in front of me, but trying gently to sit up without straining and without using my physical body also works sometimes. Once I start to separate I feel vibrations starting at my eyes then spreading to the rest of my body. These settle when I'm actually out. Some people don't feel this, others feel like they're being shaken to pieces but in a way that isn't painful. The first few times you get out you will have very little control of your movements and you won't be able to see or hear very well. You will probably find yourself spinning uncontrollably by the end of each trip. These problems just go away with practice.

Also don't forget that your first few projections should be very short, just go out, feel what it's like, look around, go back. The longer you are out the more prone you will be to forgetting the experience, so it's best to sit on a few firm but very short exits before you start to do anything more.
"Astral Dynamics" will most likely answer any question anyone has on astral projection, and then very much more. There I go again telling everyone to buy this book.

Yeah about that book - who's the author? I went to get it like a week ago and couldn't find it anywhere on the bookshelves.
