Seeing the leaves in autumn swirl and dance in little wind traps is a favourite of mine ^^ (which is one thing I like about autumn the most) Birds too. Seeing a mass congregation flying across the sky is something I find I would die for. Being able to soar at will with people you know Sunsets I have to agree with highly When the skies go from their light blues to pinks and purples and oranges. I can't tell ya how often I've been distracted mid conversation with people with sunsets .. Hmm. Actually I'll agree again and say nature in general ^^ The weather in calm states. Animals when they are young too. Curiousity abound It kind of makes me want to get a camera even more. Like once in Ireland I was visiting my relatives. They had a house they were making, but hadn't filled in the holes around the pipes of the radiator that go into the floor. Everyone wondering where this kitten had got to, and a head pops out

Haymaking, manual plouging, tending the land soothe me more than anything else.

Okay, now you guys are sharing the good stuff!
A cat purring in your lap A crystal that beams intense light A love that grows A heart that heals A sense of togetherness.
Arya, now you should ask how we share this with our neighbors. The simple truth is no matter where we are on the Earth, at any time, those are the only people we can really effect directly. Every day, on every route we take to "live?" our lives, we see the same faces, we see new faces, and we also see the faces of the people we ignore. Our neighbors.
It's the only news that matters. If we don't know our neighbors problems, we don't know our own.

Arya
You are very right. When we take the time to feel the beauty in the world it not only helps us it helps all we come in contact with. . . . it's infectious! All of the sudden an old song popped into my head!! "This little light of mine. .. I'm gonna let it shine . . " When we shine as brightly as we can people can't help but be positively affected by it.

Community, Community, Community.
Re-evaluate service.
Unlearn what you have learned.
Light from within comes from service extended.
When you go, it's all you take with you.

It's been a while since I had this idea...but I was going to incorporate that into a song... basically, the song would be kinda dark or chaotic to start, or emo, or something...and then that rhyme would break in, and the song would become more orderly, switch to more major chord progressions instead of minor and diminished, and switch from dark and heavy instrumentation to lighter and more free... I doubt it'd ever be a hit, but I still like the concept. thnx for reminding me; I need to finish it...

I think it's an excellent idea and could positively effect people. When I was a kid I loved to bang on the piano (joyful noise. .. never learned to truly play) I would sit down sometimes when I felt low and just play what I felt and then let it evolve into healing. .. ..kinda play myself out if you will. It was always very powerful for me. I can only imagine that if someone with musical gift made a concerted effort at playing us out it would be so beautiful!

another little song snipit that came to me last night after I left the group...
"and He will lift you up on angels wings, bear you on the breath of dawn, make you to shine like the sun and hold you in the palm of His hand"
They used to sing it at mass when I went to catholic school and I always found it so soothing.

The stuff they sang at our school masses calmed me down so much I used to fight sleep.... I took a bath last night, for possibly the first time in years, and it was the best thing I've done in a while. I didn't even feel guilty when Dad got cranky cos I spent too long in the bathroom!

HA HA HA! sorry your school didn't have a better choir mistress ; )
As for baths.. . .I think they are simply HEAVEN on earth. I'm so glad you decided to reacquaint yourself with their restorative properties. Grin.

Oh believe me, the teacher complained as much as we did! The Religious Education head-teacher-thingies (from when I was in Yr 7 onwards, the Catholic primary and secondary schools combined in all but name) decided the songs, which of course were the same annoying ones every time.
Well, I've been meaning to take one for a long time, but have been too busy with school and whatnot, so last night I decided since I'd be off to uni in a week I'd better do it... pity the bath's really small, cos I would've given anything to lie down properly, but I found out some interesting things that I'd like to try again next time.

Baths...I used to take 2-3hr long baths, especially if I used my mom's bathtub, hers is HUGE! mine is too short and shallow.

If I took a 2 - 3 hour bath, I would be killed! We have six people in our family so it's quite rare to get an awfully long time in our bathroom. I was just lucky in that Mum was working Friday night.

yeah, lol, I did get a lot of complaints...but there's only four people in my family, and two bathrooms, so as long as three people didn't need a bath at the same time and the hot water was in supply, it's not that bad. but the complaints did bring it down from 2-3hrs to 1/2-1hr.

Mum and I have been saying we need two bathrooms for years... never really been able to afford to add another one, though, and now that I'm going off to uni there's no hope of getting one! (lol @ the length of baths)
For some strange reason, the smell of perculated coffee also soothes me. I guess it's because I've always loved this smell (Mum used the perculator regularly when I was younger, then stopped for years, and dragged it back out again a couple of years ago) even though I only developed a taste for it recently.
