I am planning a trip to Europe for three months beginning in October. I am really drawn to go to Portugal and Spain right now. Have any of you guys been to either place? I would like to here about places to visit there or things to do... let me know.

Uriah,
I've been to Europe before but not Spain and Portugal. Not really drawn those places either, but I hope you have a great time. I went to Europe in 1999 when I was a 10th grader. It was with my high school music department. I had the best time of my life so far (eventhough the mass media disagreed). It so happened that NATO was bombing Kosvo at the time of the trip. Many Western Europeans didn't like what Nato was doing and we did run into one demostration. When we came back home (to the US) the media wanted to interview us, etc. The article that ran in the newspaper on our trip was titled "Trip of Terror". The article basically made the demonstration seem like it had a bigger effect on us, then it really did.

Yeah, it's really easy for people to distort things especially when they are trying to make money i.e., selling newspapers. Thanks for the support.

Hey Uriah.. I live in the States, but I actually study in Europe and I've been to several places there... I study in Switzerland. In fact, Im going back there in September I haven't been to Portugal, but I have been to Spain, because a cousin of mine has an apartment there. I've been to Sitges, Barcelona, Madrid, Toledo.... and I can't remember which other places, lol. Outside Spain, I've been to Austria (Vienna), Italy (Milan, Rome), Hungary (Budapest), Germany (once, but I didn't go anywhere, just the airport, haha:-) ) , I've also been to Greece twice; once to a friend's house in a little village in the island of Rhodes, and another time on a sailing trip with my school, which took us to places like Corfu and other islands including Cephallonia (Have you seen/read "Captain Corelli's Mandolin"?) I've been to the south of France around the Ardeche area (on a school trip lasting a week).... I haven't been to England yet, but we'll see :-) Which places to you plan to go besides Portugal and Spain?

The plans have been canceled... or put on hold for now. I would love to see all of Europe but I was planning to go to France and Italy as well.
There is this enchanted forest in northern France well actually two forests that I've heard about. One from this Native American that does alot of healing work and had been there. It is supposedly the forest that Merlin stayed in and worked all his magic centuries ago. This one and another that is near it are said to be filled with spirits and energy like nowhere else. Faeries, elementals, pixies and everything etheral and mystical. Celtic druids still do rituals there from what I've heard from my French boss(amazing lady). Sounds wonderful and I'd love to experience it.
I've also been interested in all the scadinavian countries and would love to visit them all someday.
