My best friend/roomate woke up yesterday morning very emotionally traumatized by a dream he'd just had.
He dreampt(dreamed? I'm not sure) that there was a suicide bombing in San Diego, which started a kind of uprising, and that events such as this continued until they reached Los Angeles where many of the large buildings downtown were blown up. He was then on the subway with my other roomate, where some terrorists ran onto their car with guns and shot my other roomate in the head and killed him. The terrorist then dropped the gun on accident, and my friend picked it up and killed them. He then began to run off but I guess he woke up after that.
My friend is a very peaceful, non-confrontational person, so this worries me as well, because he has violent dreams like this often. It has been two days now and he is still very disturbed by this dream, and he keeps telling me how he's afraid that it's either a premonition, or a sign that something is wrong with him, because he has such violent dreams. I really want to be able to comfort him and let him know that it's alright, but I'm not really sure what to say. Anyone have any suggestions?

Indigirl,
I would suggest having him read up on dream interpertation. Does he write his dreams down? If not, I would suggest he start with that one. It could be a premonition, but only time will tell. However, only he really knows what this dream means, if it means anything. I would tell him first of all, not to worry. What he is worrying about may in fact end up becoming the case. Also, I would re-mind him that even if this a "prediction" it is only a possible prediction. Re-mind him that things aren't set in stone and that depending on what he does with this dream, the "predicted" outcome CAN change.
I hope this helps in some way.
Kiva

Thank you so much Kiva, that definetly helps. It seems like just the right thing to say to help put him at ease. I want to get him to start writing down his dreams more often, because from what he says they're very vivid and he has no trouble remembering them. I'm going to have to work at it pretty hard though, because he's got a very negative view of God and spirituality at the moment, since he's been through more hardships in his life than I think most people can handle. But he is such a beautiful person and a natural healer, that I think once he opens himself up he'll be able to do amazing things. Hopefully we'll even see him on the forum one day.

Indigirl~ I've been doing a bit of research for myself, and I ran across an interesting point.... I'm not sure how valid it is, but it's possible that your friend was having that horrible dream because he was releasing old karma. I heard that the two are linked, and releasing old karma can cause nightmares, usually violent ones. If anyone knows anything about this, plz let me know Lots of love, Luz

There definitely could be a link to his diet.
Does he eat meat often, and what is the quality of the meat? Most factory line animals are treated with intense brutality, and of course that vibration will carry over to the next level of consumption.
Just a theory, but you could see what kind of energy he's taking in through his food.

Luz~ I definetly think that your suggestion makes a lot of sense, if that is possible he could be releasing old karma, just knowing him it makes sense.
Cherise~ He doesn't really eat a lot of meat, but I realized that he actually doesn't eat a lot period. Doesn't eat enough I think. Maybe that could be responsible?

Definitely, look into the quality of the nutrition he's taking in. Is it all alive, or mostly dead. And, of course, exercise, excercise, exercise! Nature's anti-depressant. Even if it's just walking, explore new neighborhoods together.

It could also be related to anything you watch on tv or things like that I remember when I used to watch something constantly or do something constantly I would eventually dream about it , for this instance do you play or watch any action movies but I don't think its that just wanted to bring this up anyways ^_^

Talking about dreams is a good way of releasing emotion from them
