I was wondering whether or not a pattern would emerge. I don't need much sleep. I can stay up until two o'clock in the morning, wake up at six, and be able to do the same the next day. I can carry on this pattern for many days. Do higher-vibrational children need less sleep, or is it just me?

Most higher-vibrationals have so much energy that they don't need as much sleep as others their age. A small amount need much, much more in order to keep from being drained (this happens when they are still learning in dreaming or work through healing).
I do the same thing. ^_^

I thought so.

I guess I'm in the "small amount" group...I used to sleep up to 12 hours a night...that was in part due to depression at the time...and partly just me being young and needing more sleep than I do now...but I still sleep about 8 hours.
...wait a minute...are we adding to our labels? I'm not in any group LOL...maybe that one was my own fault, I dunno...lol.

Shaelyn,
I usually sleep 8-9 hours a night as well. I've always known I've needed my sleep. However, I can get 8-9 hrs of "sleep" but not enough "deep sleep" and still be tired in the morning. But, I can go to bed at say midnight/1 am and wake up at 5 or 6 and be fine the next day if I get the "right" amount of deep sleep that night. So, for me it's more how much deep sleep i get.

I personally can't sleep for any more than 8 hours cause if I do I'm more tired when I wake up than when I went to bed. Around 6 hours of sleep is typically ideal for me.
Lately I've been sleeping for about 4-5 hours, then getting another 2 hours of sleep later on in the day. But this is due to my Astral Projection practice.

Well... I pretty much sleep as much as I can, whenever I can, lol. A lot of times I get very drained during the day, especially if I have to spend long hours in school or around people.
However, there's nothing I love more than being up to watch the sun rise. Every day it would get tiring, but once in a while on weekends... it's just the perfect moment. =)

I haven't caught a sunrise in awhile... I usually get about 6-8 hours of sleep but I feel on many occasions that I need more but I just like staying up to do things. Getting rest is great but I also love to be awake to just do stuff. Leonardo Da Vinci said he didn't like sleep and it was a waste of time because it kept him from working on his projects which were many.

I'm afraid I can't agree with Da Vinci, I believe that the time we sleep is just as important, if not more important than while we are awake. Many people use sleep as a tool to gain insight on difficult problems they are facing. And for many others, the dream state is the only medium available for the higher (or deeper) mind to communicate with the conscious mind. (Typically you average seven dream periods a night, each up to around 45 minutes long.)
I wouldn't be able to stand it if sleep didn't exist, there's just no feeling like waking up and being completely refreshed.

Pheonix,
So true! I think I understand where Da Vinci is coming from though because between my web desiging, art projects, writing, school, working at my dad's office, and kung fu lessons, I sometimes wish there were ten more hours in the day to do everything! However, I don't think sleep is to blaim, I just wish days were longer and maybe if we just needed less sleep....

That's what I've always wanted! I could definately use some 35 hour days But then imagine how long those "boring days" would feel! Lol, ya just can't win.
