Well, last night my sister's pony passed away. My sister and I cried quite a bit today and we're still pretty subdued. I would have liked to help dig the grave but unfortunately that's going to happen when I'm at school, and anyway I would aggravate my sprained rib.

well, I'm still a bit sad about the pony dying. I've also got a severe dose of seasonal depression. Basically, I've been really depressed just about every July since I was about fifteen and the year before last I tried to kill myself. I don't have a reason for being unhappy, I just am. Anyway, I do feel better knowing I'm loved etc so you're more than welcome to remind me.

Aww, I'm sorry, Jeremy! I hope you feel better soon... We're here for you when you need help, so don't hesitate to ask if you're feeling upset about something and need some cheering up! ;D I'm not one to give medical advice, since I don't want to make anything worse than it already is, but just remember, you're not alone. You're a wonderful person. And whatever you do, please don't try to kill yourself! And...Arya...I was always told that drugs are very bad and can cause serious addictions, so if I were Jeremy, I'd probably stay away from them and talk to my doctor instead...

Well it is a chemical imbalance as Arya suggested. I'm not sure of all the details but it's something to do with endorphins from my retinas and serotonin, so it basically is an addiction already but it's an addiction to substances my body makes for itself when I get enough light. And Kitty, thanks for your compliment. I'm not going to kill myself at the moment. Last year when I was depressed I managed to lift my spirits until spring by letting someone know I love them and that seems to have worked this year as well.

That's good. Yes, spreading love seems to help me too when I'm sad.

lumotherapy would definitely help, but I'd have to make sure I got enough light without getting it all too quickly and hurting my eyes. I'm quite cheerful right now, and usually that means no more depression for another year
